If you’re heading into downtown Seattle, find a route other than Interstate 5 or expect long delays on the highway, as traffic is backed up for miles while officials respond to a multiple-vehicle crash.
There is a six-mile backup starting under the Washington State Convention Center as of 9:30 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation.
Two lanes are open, and Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson estimated the rest would open around 10:30 a.m.
All passengers in the rollover crash were able to get out of their vehicles, the Seattle Fire Department said. Johnson said “no major injuries” resulted from the crash.
Sound Transit said express routes 510/512, 511/513 and 535 may be delayed up to 30 minutes.
