Again, Court sacks Ifeanyi Ubah as Senator

The High Court, Abuja has sacked Senator Ifeanyi Ubah from the Senate for allegedly presenting a forged National Examination Council certificate for the election that made him a senator.

The senator representing Anambra South, Ifeanyi Ubah has again been sacked by a Federal High Court in Abuja.

The senator, who is a member of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) was sacked by Justice Bello Kawu.

Ubah had asked the judge to set aside his earlier order issued in a ruling he delivered on April 11, 2019.

In the said ruling, the judge had sacked Ubah over the senator’s alleged submission of a forged National Examination Council (NECO) certificate.

Ubah submitted the certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to vie for a senatorial position in the February 23, 2019 National Assembly election.

While reiterating that Ubah remained sacked, Justice Kawu ordered INEC to withdraw the Certificate of Return it issued to Ubah, and issue a fresh Certificate of Return to Obinna Uzoh, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Uzoh had come second during the election.
